Our Services

Marie Sales Photography provides premium, magazine-style portrait photography services including Modern Woman, Couples & Families, Maternity & Motherhood, High School Seniors, Personal Branding, Men's Portraits, Dancer, Fashion & Model, Fine Art, Boudoir photography, and the Empowered 40 portrait series.

Our luxury portrait experience may include, as specified at booking: pre-session consultation, wardrobe guidance, professional makeup application, guided posing and coaching, multiple outfit and set changes, a photography session, and a reveal and ordering appointment.

• Deliverables & Turnaround: Product and delivery timelines vary by collection and lab production schedules. Estimated timelines will be provided during ordering and are not guaranteed.
• Studio Access & Guests: Please arrive on time. Guest attendance may be limited for space and flow. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
• Hair, Makeup & Styling: Hair and makeup may be provided by a third-party professional. Client agrees to follow stylist and studio instructions for safety and results.
• Client Prep & Participation: Client is responsible for bringing agreed wardrobe and accessories and for communicating preferences, sensitivities, and any guidelines in advance.

Payments & Fees

• Retainer Fee: Required at booking. Applied as stated at time of booking. Non-refundable unless we explicitly state otherwise in writing.
• Payment Terms: Any remaining session fee balance must be paid in full by the session date. Print and digital product orders must be paid in full at the time of the reveal and ordering appointment unless an in-house payment plan is offered in writing.
• Payment Methods & Fees: You agree to pay all applicable taxes and processing fees charged by payment providers, if any.
• Collections & Pricing: Prices are subject to change; however, rates in effect at the time of booking will be honored for that session. Promotions and discounts cannot be applied retroactively unless agreed in writing.
• Chargebacks: If a chargeback is initiated for services or products properly provided under these Terms, you agree to reimburse us for amounts reversed and any chargeback or collection fees permitted by law.
• Payment Plans: We offer payment options through Afterpay and 0% interest financing for up to 18 months through Synchrony Bank, subject to credit approval, where applicable.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

We understand that life happens.

• Rescheduling by Client: Clients may reschedule one (1) time with at least 48 hours' notice, subject to availability. Additional reschedules may require a new retainer.
• Late Cancellations & No-Shows: Cancellations or rescheduling with less than 48 hours' notice, or failure to appear, may result in forfeiture of the retainer and may require a new retainer to rebook.
• Late Arrival: Late arrival reduces shooting time and may limit sets and outfits. Excessive lateness may be treated as a no-show at our discretion.
• Rescheduling by Us: Marie Sales Photography reserves the right to reschedule due to illness, weather, equipment failure, or emergencies. If we must cancel and cannot reschedule, your paid retainer will be credited to a future date or refunded as required by applicable law.

Hair, Makeup & Allergies

Professional makeup is included in our luxury experience when specified at booking. If you have known allergies, sensitivities, medical concerns, or skin conditions, you must inform us prior to the session and discuss them with the stylist.

Marie Sales Photography is not liable for adverse reactions to products used by third-party stylists or for issues arising from undisclosed allergies or conditions. If you choose to decline professional makeup, results may vary and no refunds or credits are provided for declined inclusions.

Artistic Control & Image Selection

Marie Sales Photography retains full artistic control over the shooting, selection, editing, and post-processing of all images — including posing direction, lighting style, composition, and retouching approach consistent with our brand.

Only the best images, curated by the photographer, will be presented during the reveal session. Raw or unedited files are not provided or sold, to ensure the integrity of our award-winning brand standards.

Copyright & Image Usage

Under U.S. Copyright Law, Marie Sales Photography owns the copyright to all photographs and related works created during the session, unless we expressly transfer rights in a signed written agreement.

• Personal Use License: Upon full payment, clients receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use purchased images for personal use — personal printing, home display, and sharing on personal social media — provided images are not altered beyond basic cropping and are not used in a way that is unlawful or misleading.
• Personal Branding & Commercial Use: Personal branding clients may use purchased images for their own marketing and promotion — websites, social media, email marketing, ads, press kits — for their business or brand. This license does not allow resale, sublicensing, transfer to third parties, stock use, NFTs, or use by other businesses without written permission.
• No Third-Party Sales or Contests: Images may not be sold to third parties or entered into contests, publications, or awards by the client without written consent from Marie Sales Photography.
• Studio Portfolio & Marketing Use: Any use of your images by Marie Sales Photography for portfolio, social media, website, advertising, or publications is governed by a separate Model Release. If you do not sign a Model Release, we will not use your images for marketing.

Print Products & Ordering

• Third-Party Labs: Prints, albums, and wall art may be produced by professional third-party labs. Color and crop may vary slightly between monitors and print products.
• Order Changes: Once an order is placed, it may not be changed or canceled after it has been submitted to production.
• Digital File Responsibility: After delivery, you are responsible for downloading, storing, and backing up your digital files. We recommend keeping multiple backups.

Studio Conduct & Safety

We strive to create an empowering, safe, and respectful environment. We reserve the right to refuse service or terminate a session immediately, without refund, if a client or guest behaves in a threatening, abusive, discriminatory, unsafe, or unprofessional manner, or violates studio rules.

• Assumption of Risk: Photography sessions may involve movement, posing, props, stairs, outdoor terrain, or studio equipment. You agree to follow direction and to disclose any injuries or limitations. You assume all risks of participation to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Marie Sales Photography will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or lost profits. Our total liability for any claim related to the services will not exceed the amount you paid us for the session or services giving rise to the claim.

While we take every precaution to protect digital files, we are not liable for loss or damage due to events beyond our reasonable control — including equipment failure, corrupted files, fire, flood, theft, or acts of God. If images are lost or unusable due to our fault, our liability is limited to reshooting the session (if feasible) or refunding amounts paid for the session at our discretion, and this will be your exclusive remedy.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
